Kanthiranden – An Awakening
March 2nd, 2010 by Sowmya

During Guruji’s recent visit, Mrs Sangeetha Ramprasad, a good friend, Satsanghi and leading carnatic vocalist in Bahrain, has composed the following song in dedication to Guruji.

When she first told me that she had this inspiration after listening to Guruji’s discourse, I had requested her to record this song in her voice and send for our site so that it can be shared with all the satsanghis the world over.

I believe this is the first time a song is being composed and dedicated to our beloved Guruji, who loves music and has taught it to so many of our satsanghis with untiring enthusiasm.

Very few people are blessed with the unique talent to compose songs. So, I take this opportunity to offer this beautiful and meaningful song sent by Sangeetha on behalf of all our satsanghis to our dear Guruji

Please feel free to express your thoughts on this song at our site and share the same with all our readers

Here is the song

Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!

    Here are the Lyrics

    Pallavi

    Kan thiranden naan unnai kandadhale
    agam kulirnden yennai arindhen

    கண் திறந்தேன் நான் உன்னை கண்டதாலே
    அகம் குளிர்ந்தேன் என்னை அறிந்தேன்

(Meaning….I opened my eyes to the absolute truth , the reality after hearing, meeting, seeing YOU (the spiritual Guru. I am very happy that I could have a better understanding of my Self after introspection)

    Anupallavi

    porularinden bhakthiyin
    suvai arinden yennai marenden

    பொருளறிந்தேன் பக்தியின்
    சுவை அறிந்தேன் என்னை மறந்தேன்

(Only now did I realize the meaning of bhakthi (after listing to Guruji)….I understood the sweetness and got immersed into it……)

    Charanam

    palan yedhirparamal bhakthi saivai maname
    pugazhai nadi sellade muda nenje
    payan yennamal charanam adaivadhe
    bhakthiyin saram arindhu konden

(The essence of bhakthi is Total surrender with full faith, without expecting fruit of action)

    SRI : ||

    Hare Krishna.

    Very Nice composition and Congrats.

Pallavi wud hv been finer if it was

    ” Kann thirandhaen unnai kandathinaalae,
    Agam Kullirndhaen ennai arindhadhinaalae. ”

Likewise the last line of Charanam wud hv sounded more apealing if it was

” Bhakthiyin saaram ena arindhukondaenae ”

Best Wishes for more & more compsitions of enriched values.

    Madhavan, Salem.

Kan thiranden===yes truly by your heart rendering, soul stirring

mellifluous golden voice you have kindled the spiritual fire which often remains in a dormant state due to over indulging in material aspects of life.Words are too poor to express the feelings of joy on hearing and understanding the inner meaning of your divine rendering–it is much much more than a mere song.

Gurujis blessings to all who really opens the eyes gifted by God.

    with all wishes
