Namaskar Mahatmas !
A recap:
Mahaaveeryah – One is the Supreme Essence behind all creativity
Mahaasaktih – Supremely Efficient; power behind all actions and knowledge
Mahaadyutih – Splendor
Mahaabuddhih – A reservoir of all Intelligence is the Supreme Lord Maha Vishnu
ous light; Lord is Self-effulgent; Illuminator of all
ANIRDESYA-VAPUH SREEMAAN
AMEYAATMAA MAHAADRI-DHRIK
ANIRDESYAVAPUH:
One whose form is indefinable, indescribable and inexplicable (Anirdesyam). Ordinary things can be defined, described or explained because they come within our experience. In short we can explain or express what is other than us. The Self, the Lord being the very essence of our nature He is beyond thoughts; Words cannot explain Him; We cannot have an ‘idea’ of Him as we have for other things; We cannot feel Him. He is our source of the very knowledge. The eye can see all other things except itself. Similarly, all experiences are because of the presence of the Lord and His presence can be only intuited.
SREEMAAN:
Sree’ means Glory. Vishnu is permanently wedded to Mother Glory. He, who is constantly courted by all glories, is Sreeman, Lord Vishnu.
AMEYAATMAA:
He whose essence (Atma) is inestimable and immeasurable (Ameya). In Gita, Lord says that, “Kshethrajna is One but Kshetras are many; I am the one Essence present in all Kshetras”. He is the One knower of each ‘field of activities’. As explained by the Lord Himself, His vibhutis or glories are endless and infinite in number.
MAHAADRIDHRIK:
One who supports the great mountain is a Mahaadridhrik. In the Puranas, we find two instances wherein the Lord has been described as the uplifter of mountains to protect His devotees.
While churning the milky ocean with the Mandara Mountain, the “churning-stick” sunk into the bottom and the Lord had to manifest in the form of Great Tortoise and support it, while Devas and Asuras continued churning, until they gathered the Amritam or Nectar.
As the Supreme Lord Krishna, in order to protect the cows and the Yadavas and also to destroy Indra’s pride had to lift the Govardhana mountain.
Because of these two stories in the Puraanas, Lord, the Protector of the mind in Sadhana, is called Mahaadridhrik.
The Lord is One who supports the mind-intellect of the Sadhaka while he is churning, through the study (sravanam) and reflection (mananam), his own milk like pure heart of devotion in order to gain the experience of Immortality (amritam)
